The screw cap to my “antique” Oster blender cracked. I just took a chance,I would be able to find it on Amazon. I decided to buy the entire rebuild kit, it was more economical to replace everything. They still make it the same way, everything fit perfect, just like new. I saved with the shipping from Amazon too.

Bought this blender on the Cooks Illustrated recommendation and it is a good blender with a solid glass jar. The rubber gasket between the jar and the blade is almost clear and I lost mine. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the $1.99 gasket would cost over $20 to replace! The Kalorik website only handles minimum of $10 orders so 6 gaskets are the minimum purchase. I decided on an additional blade ($9.99) and 2 gaskets. Shipping for that is $10.85. So it is costing me $24.82 for the $1.99 gasket.

Moral of the story - HOLD ONTO YOUR GASKET!

Maybe I should buy the 6 and sell the other 5 through Amazon. Hmmm.

First of all, I ordered the VitaMix Pro through Amazon and was surprised at how quickly it was delivered, though I did regular shipping. I’ve had the VitaMix for almost a month now and have used it at least once every day, and sometimes more. I love it; it’s a great product, and using it has become a part of my everyday routine. Since receiving our VitaMix, my husband and I have been drinking a quart of green smoothie daily (based on the book “Green for Life”) and it’s amazing how fast all the fruit and veggies are turned into very smooth liquid. The taste is surprisingly good! There are so many uses. I have also blended for recipes, made malts, fruit smoothes, etc., and have had great luck with all. I highly recommend this product!

I paid $229 for this in Dec 2006 (bought it from Amazon). It’s a great blender but not worth $999.

Bought this Braun MR430HC Multiquick Deluxe here on Amazon in March 200 8 and we were quite happy with it until recently, when it simply stopped working. We did not use it that often, and are surprised, given Braun’s general impression of quality and durability.

It comes with an array of handy accessories and seemed like a pretty fail-proof design (it only has one button).
You can detach the tip and wash it in the dishwasher, which is great.

I wish I didn’t buy it, just stops working yesterday. I don’t know what happened, there is no reason, I took care of it according to the label. Don’t buy it!!!! I can’t believe I gave 100 to this piece of junk!!!!Now my return window with Amazon has passed, and Cuisinart won’t replace it. Beware!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hamilton Beach has made their cutter blades the same way for over twenty years - as far back as I can remember. And I’ve used a lot of them. Never had any problems with them. A couple years ago, they came out with the so-called “wave-action” cutter blade. The new cutter blades are a disaster - an example of how to take a perfectly good design and ruin it. What the wave-action blades do - is slosh everything around in the blender jar, creating a mess. It splashes all over the top cover lid. Not only that, but the new cutter blades leak around the bottom, where the round flat rubber seal goes. That’s another thing they changed. The rubber seal that sits below the cutter blades is less in width. Since I do a lot of blending, I have four blender jars and four of these new wave-action blades. All they do is create a mess inside the blender jar and are for more prone to leaking. I have to tighten the base far more than I ever had to in the past. And they still leak.

With all that in mind, I set out looking for some of the old-style blades. I finally found them - or so I thought. I ordered four of these old-style cutter blades. The photo shown on Amazon clearly shows the old style cutter blade. Ah, but everything is not as it seems. To put icing on the cake, Hamilton Beach has done something downright [...]. Get this - they show the old style blades on the front of the box, but are putting the new style blades inside. What’s shown on the box does not represent what’s inside. The picture you see here on Amazon, does not represent what’s in the box. Look at the two photos I’ve uploaded that clearly shows this. [...]

Update 3/20/07. I did eventually find the old-style cutter blades on Amazon. Do a search for “Hamilton Beach Commercial Bar Blender Blade”. I’ve ordered several of these and can verify these are like the old-style blades.

I live in the middle of nowhere and do appeciate being able to purchase something like this from amazon, but considering what this is, a rubber gasket, the shipping costs were outrageous. A gasket doesn’t need a padded envelope; wrap it in a single sheet of paper and stick it in a letter size envelope with a .42 stamp for gosh sakes!

I accidentally stumbled upon this item on Amazon when researching blenders. My Cuisinart blender had suddenly died due to a broken blade driver clutch. I hadn’t know that this part was replaceable or even available, until seeing the item on Amazon and reading reviews about it.

I quickly ordered one and received it a few days later. Our brass fitting seemed to be permanently stuck, despite following other readers’ suggestions for removal. My husband then applied WD-40 and allowed it to soak in for about 30 minutes. This allowed the fitting to loosen up and he was then able to remove it. He put the new clutch in, reassembled the motor and oila! we’re back in business.

Thanks to Amazon and all of the readers who explained how to replace the clutch.

We purchased this blender to make baby food for our kids. The first KB720 we received lasted 5 sessions before giving up the ghost completely. It just died. No clicking noises, no nothing. I contacted the Amazon vender, Today’s Concepts, and they were very helpful. They even sent a shipping label for the exchange, which was a nice touch that some places could learn. We received the new one in about 9 days and we began to make more food for the kids. We did begin to get the burnt rubber smell that people have commented on before, so we didn’t panic too much about that. Then the blender started shutting down, just stopping, and not restarting until we unplugged it and plugged it back in. At this point we were thinking of using the blender for skeet practice, but finished the batch of food with lots of unplugging and plugging back in. I contacted Krups and they didn’t have any insight into failure rates and types of failures. They just gave the same old reply of, “it will have to be shipped to one of our repair shops”. Translation: 4-8 weeks without a blender. I contacted Today’s Concept and they refunded my money with absolutely no hassle at all.

The blender is a really good one, when it’s working, but it’s just not of the quality that I expect from Krups. I’ve never had even a Walmart brand die as quickly as these two blenders.

Although I gave the blender only one star I give Today’s Concept 5 stars, and more if I could. Their shipping was good and their customer service was great. They were very helpful and didn’t give me any run around at all. I will definitely purchase other products from them in the future.
