Author: I bought a Cuisinart because I expected it to live up to its name. I don’t ask much of it. Every morning I mix 16 oz. yogurt, a few liquid vitamins, etc., and a cup of frozen Maine (very small) blueberries for breakfast. I don’t crush ice at all. From the start, this machine screamed at me. The bottom third of the potion grudingly begins to move a little after a few seconds of idle grinding and I have to keep taking the top off and stirring by hand to mix in the rest. I have to switch around from low to high and pulse to get this moving at all. It takes forever to get something the consistency of home-made ice cream. When I pour, the brew plops everywhere but in the glass. Now the motor seems to be burning out - rubber and electric smell. I have a Kitchen RRKSB5 at my summer place that works perfectly. I start at low and switch to pulp and I have a liquid drink in just a couple of minutes. I can pour easily out of the glass pitcher. Quiet, easy, fast. I recommend the Kitchen Aid. Shame on Cuisinart!
