This blender kicks a**!

My wife and I use the blender for smoothies and protein shakes, at least 2x-3x/day. We’ve burned our way through a couple of Cuisinarts, and a few other lesser brands.

This machine is rock solid, and crushes ice perfectly. Very easy to clean, and more importantly, very easy to take apart and put back together.

Was a bit skeptical at first, given some of the reviews; however, we’re about a month into it and love this machine!

We purchased this blender to make baby food for our kids. The first KB720 we received lasted 5 sessions before giving up the ghost completely. It just died. No clicking noises, no nothing. I contacted the Amazon vender, Today’s Concepts, and they were very helpful. They even sent a shipping label for the exchange, which was a nice touch that some places could learn. We received the new one in about 9 days and we began to make more food for the kids. We did begin to get the burnt rubber smell that people have commented on before, so we didn’t panic too much about that. Then the blender started shutting down, just stopping, and not restarting until we unplugged it and plugged it back in. At this point we were thinking of using the blender for skeet practice, but finished the batch of food with lots of unplugging and plugging back in. I contacted Krups and they didn’t have any insight into failure rates and types of failures. They just gave the same old reply of, “it will have to be shipped to one of our repair shops”. Translation: 4-8 weeks without a blender. I contacted Today’s Concept and they refunded my money with absolutely no hassle at all.

The blender is a really good one, when it’s working, but it’s just not of the quality that I expect from Krups. I’ve never had even a Walmart brand die as quickly as these two blenders.

Although I gave the blender only one star I give Today’s Concept 5 stars, and more if I could. Their shipping was good and their customer service was great. They were very helpful and didn’t give me any run around at all. I will definitely purchase other products from them in the future.

THIS IS A VERY NICE AND STRONG BLENDER. I JUST WISH THE CONTAINER WAS MADE OF PLASTIC INSTEAD OF GLASS SINCE IT IS A LITTLE HEAVY. THE OTHER CONTAINER FOR FOOD, ETC, IS VERY NICE ALSO AND MADE OF PLASTIC.

This blender works fine for making smoothies, if you run it long enough. However the bowl is very difficult to take apart - there’s no place to get a good grip to unscrew it. The labels on the buttons (”on” “off”) have worn off after a year. And sometimes on the “ice crush” mode, it simply unscrews the bowl instead of sucking down the ice! Also, the cover has all these little places where food can get stuck and it’s very hard to clean. You’d think after making blenders for decades, they’d have figured all these things out!

I usually do a bit of research before purchasing anything and I thought I had with this blender when I purchased it several years back. It did not do anything right from day one and made lots of noise. The wife picked up a second all plastic rival model at a yardsale for $2 that works better than this one. No matter how long you blend: chunks, chunks, chunks. That’s not blending. Well, finally replacing with another one. Never got used much, maybe the new one will, as I’m pretty sure it will do the job properly. I usually donate items like this, but I’d hate someone needy end up with it. Most probably will just end up in the trash. Shame, looks brand new.

I don’t know what’s up with the first reviewer of this product, but it would appear that he/she should just stick with a single speed blender. This BlendTec is the most sophisticated, powerful and intuitive processing machine available. Somehow the reviewer did not read the manual (and with this level of sophistication you need to do so). I give it the highest rating for everything needing processing. You just need to learn how to use it.

I purchased the Braun 5 speed blender online, used it several times a week for a 4 months, and then it just died. When I called Braun, the customer service rep took all my details (name, blender serial #, etc.), then asked what I had last blended. I replied ‘fruit smoothie’ and was told that my warranty was therefore no longer valid since the blender shouldn’t be used to crush frozen fruit or ice. The customer service rep then gave me the address of an appliance repair outlet almost an 1 hour drive away and told me to take it there to get it repaired. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM BRAUN AGAIN.

Compare this to my experience with Hamilton Beach. When my electric kettle died within the warranty period, I called them and they promptly mailed me a prepaid shipping label. I sent the kettle via UPS and had my new replacement less than 2 weeks later at no cost.

I have had this blender for over 5 years. I bought it when I gave up trying to make margaritas with my old one. It works very well and fast. Having so many settings, you can work it like a finely tuned instrument. I start it on grate, then go to liquify briefly and finish up in blend. The process takes less than 2 minutes. It produces a very fine ice grain. It is also very easy to clean. It also has a lot of power. I would highly recommend it.
